Space Industrial Domain Workshop at Boeing facilities in Madrid, Spain
On June 12th, the Space Industrial Domain Workshop brought together researchers, innovators, and experts for an engaging and insightful event. Held at Boeing Aerospace Spain, with both in-person and online participation, the workshop focused on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and aerospace, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration within the industry.
The day began with presentations from notable speakers, including Enrique Casado from Boeing Aerospace Spain and Antonio Gracia, who provided valuable insights into AI applications in Boeing and the future of aerospace. Adrián Sánchez Morales from Capgemini then explored the use cases for Generative AI in industrial domains. A highlight of the event was the update and discussion session led by the Space Industrial Domain ENFIELD partners, offering a comprehensive overview of the ongoing project tasks.
Following a productive lunch break, Teodosio Pérez Amaral from UCM introduced Eco-RETINA, a new green algorithm alternative to traditional regression and neural networks. The session continued with Jean-Eudes Gbodjo from VTT, who presented on self-supervised learning for cloud detection using Sentinel-2 images.
In the afternoon, Stelios Neophytides from ECoE discussed the critical role of AI and Earth Observation in fostering a sustainable environment. The workshop closed with a compelling session led by Ignacio Vidal from Boeing Aerospace Spain, covering use cases related to satellite communication loss and foreign object debris detection.
This workshop marks another important step in advancing AI solutions in industrial domains, and we look forward to the future developments and collaborations it has sparked.
